  An earthquake of magnitude 6.7 struck near the coast of Northern Chile on Tuesday. The earth quake had a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). The first earthquake happened at 12:09 a.m. local time on Tuesday and was centered about 40 kilometers northwest of Carrizal Bajo, a village in the northern Atacama region, or 113 km southwest of Copiapó. It was followed by the aftershock at 12:30 a.m, causing damages and prompting people to evacuate as precautionary measure. Chile’s seismological agency said the initial earthquake measured 7.0 and struck about 31 kilometers below the seafloor, making it a shallow earthquake. The aftershock measured 6.1. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) put the magnitudes at 6.8 and 6.3, respectively. The initial earthquake was felt across the region and woke up many people, but there were no immediate reports of casualties. Some damage and minor landslides were reported in areas near the epicenter. 

  The CDC has identified at least two additional outbreaks resulting from a crowded wedding reception in Millinocket, and is now investigating a possible third: an outbreak at Calvary Baptist Church, in Sanford. Sunday’s report brings the total coronavirus cases in Maine to 4,512. Of those, 4,047 have been confirmed positive, while 465 were classified as “probable cases,” according to the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention. An outbreak stemming from a crowded wedding reception in Millinocket has now directly or indirectly infected over 120 people, according to the Maine CDC, including 54 staffers and prisoners at the York County Jail. On Saturday, health authorities announced that five cases had been detected at Calvary Baptist Church in Sanford, whose pastor apparently officiated the Millinocket wedding. Mendy, a 28-year-old Senegal international who only joined Rennes last summer played an instrumental role in the club's third-place league finish - ensuring their first-ever participation in the Champions League has attracted attention outside of France. It seems that Kepa has lost Frank Lampard’s trust after numerous costly errors this past season and the Spaniard will need to be upgraded on. Mendy would add competition, quality and depth to the position. It would be interesting to see if Kepa can improve his game and retain his place as the club’s first-choice keeper next season.

Out of the reports, 97% were related to internet services, with the most reported locations including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Orlando, Portland, and Miami.

Robinson died Saturday at 53, remembered as much for his personality as his skills by the teams he played for during an 18-year career. His personality and energy were unmatched, and his contributions on the court were unmistakable, helping the Trail Blazers into the playoffs each of his eight seasons with the team, and he was named an All-Star in 1994 and averaged 14.2 points and 4.6 rebounds in 1,380 career games. No cause of death was given, though Calhoun said Robinson had a stroke 30 months ago. Shams Charania of The Athletic later reported a statement from the family that indicated Robinson had been battling lymphoma.

  The National Co-ordinator, Congress of University Academics (CONUA), Dr ‘Niyi Sunmonu, on Saturday said its members were ready to resume work. Sunmonu said this in a statement he issued after its National Executive Council meeting and made available to newsmen on Saturday in Lagos. He urged the Federal Government to reopen universities and put in place infrastructure and COVID-19 protocols that would facilitate resumption in the institutions. ”CONUA members are ready to resume work.”Everything necessary in terms of COVID-19 protocols must be put in place before reopening the universities in order to prevent students and staff from contracting the disease. ”The education sector cannot continue to stagnate.
