Chelsea make move for Rennes Goalkeeper Edouard mendy
Football club Chelsea has Offered £18m for Rennes Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy as Chelsea's transfer spending spree looks set to continue after they had made an improved bid of £18m for Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy after their initial offer of £15m last week was rejected by Rennes as per reports from The Sun.
Mendy, a 28-year-old Senegal international who only joined Rennes last summer played an instrumental role in the club's third-place league finish - ensuring their first-ever participation in the Champions League has attracted attention outside of France.
It seems that Kepa has lost Frank Lampard’s trust after numerous costly errors this past season and the Spaniard will need to be upgraded on. Mendy would add competition, quality and depth to the position. It would be interesting to see if Kepa can improve his game and retain his place as the club’s first-choice keeper next season.
