 Jeffrey Preston Bezos, an American Entrepreneur who is currently the world’s richest man with a net worth of over $200billion was born in January 12, 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, U.S. He is the founder and CEO of amazon.com, Inc.

i. Aside from Amazon, Jeff Bezos founded a spaceflight company, Blue Origin in 2000. Blue Origin bought a launch site in Texas soon thereafter and planned to introduce a crewed suborbital spacecraft, New Shepherd, in 2018 and an orbital launch vehicle, New Glenn, in 2020. Bezos also bought the Washington post and affiliated publications for $250 million.

ii. He graduated from Preston University in 1986 with a degree in electrical engineering and computer science and worked at several places before joining new york investment bank D.E. shaw & Co. in 1990 where he was soon named the senior vice president of the firm at a very young age.

iii. Bezos married Mackenzie Tuttle in 1993 however in January 2019; they announced that they would be getting a divorce. The separation caught more attention after the ‘National Enquirer’ had printed a story revealing that Bezos was having an affair with another woman. He (Bezos) immediately started investigating on how the tabloid had obtained his private texts, he accused the Enquirer of ‘extortion and bribery’ for threating to release his nude photographs if he did not stop his inquiry. It was however later found out that the texts were actually leaked by his lover’s brother.

iv. He was born to a teenage mother, Jacklyn Gise Jorgensen, and his biological father, Ted Jorgensen.

v. He named his site amazon.com after the meandering South American river, on July 16, 1995, after asking 300 friends to beta test his site.
